PILING PROJECTS:
Over 40 Projects involving drilling of over 10,000 piles (over 160,000 m) of 560-2,000 mm dia. The projects cover various terrain including plains, deserts, mountains, canals, rivers and offshore sites. The work at canals, rivers and offshore locations was carried out by deploying rigs fitted on floating platform.
In a single year, completed over 11,000 m of piling in 1994 and in 1996.
The major Piling projects include the following:
Land Locations:
- 506 piles (600 mm f) totaling over 5,700 m, were completed, at a single project, in record period of 45 days (Qadirpur Gas Field Development Project).
- 1,360 piles (400-900 mm f) totaling over 16,000m, were completed at a single project (Japan Power Project, Lahore).
- Over 1,000 piles (660-1220 mm f) totaling over 16,000m on various Transmission Line Projects all over Pakistan.
- Over 1,000 piles (760-1000 mm f) totaling over 20,000m at various Bridge sites all over Pakistan, including over 200 piles (about 5,000 m) for Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway.
- 221 piles (750 mm f) totaling over 4,200 m at Lucky Cement Plant Project, Piezu, Luchey Manwat.
- 70 piles of 900 mm f and 20 m length designed and constructed as Excavation Support System for 12 m deep excavation at City Towers, Lahore.
- 96 piles of 600 mm f upto 16 m length and 49 Anchors of 12 m length designed and constructed as Excavation Support System for 12 m deep excavation at Lahore Stock Exchange Building, Lahore.
- 160 piles of 760 mm f, 25m length at Liari-Ormara Section, Makran Costal Highway Balouchistan.
- 196 piles of 900/1200mm f, 20m length at Secondary Transmission Line & Grid Stations 220 KV T/L, Double Circuit Daudkhel-Banu Line-1.
- 144 Piles of 760mm f, 35m at Mirani Dam located in Gwadar District, Balochistan.
- 146 Piles of 760mm f, 26m length at Malir River Crossing Shah Faisal Colony, Karachi.
- 145 Piles of 750 mm f, 28m length at KPT Berth #25 for Lucky Cement Silos.
- 155 Pile of 760 mm f, 25m length at Pakistan International Container Terminal-Bridge East Wharf, Karachi Port.
- 652 Piles of 560mm f, total 10,000 m, at Choueifat International School, Korangi, Karachi.
- 224 Piles of 915 & 1220mm f and 16 to 25m depth for 56 Tower Foundations of 220 KV Transmission Line at Daudkhel-Banu Section.
- 837 Piles of 750mm f, 14,000m, at PKLI Project, Lahore.
- 1,060 Piles 750- 1200mm f, 13,400m, at Creek Vista, Arkadian Project, Karachi
Underwater locations:
- 124 piles (750 mm Ø) totaling over 3600 m at 7 Canal Crossings for Sukkur Bypass at underwater locations. At the same project another 4 piles of 1200 mm Ø and 45 m length were completed at Indus River Crossing.
- 96 piles (460-710 mm f) totaling over 2,000 m for 24 Nos. pipeline crossings over Canals in Sindh and Baluchistan for Sui Southern Gas Company.
- 350 piles of 750mm f, 27m length, below sea bed, at Napier Mole Boat Wharf, Karachi Port. (Also involved setup on Floating Barges for underwater locations).
- 8 Piles of 910mm f, 30m for Piles & Pile Support Intake Structure (Offshore Work) DHA-COGEN Desalination Plant, Karachi.
- 24 Piles of 1220 mm f and 35 to 40m depth, below river bed,for three Tower Foundations of 220 KV Transmission Line Daudkhel-Banu Section (River Crossing at Kala Bagh). One Tower Location was at underwater and piling work was carried out from floating Pontoons.
- 16 Nos Piles 750 mm f upto 18.50m depth, below sea bed, for Construction of Water Jet Fountain and Plant Room at Offshore, near Oyster Rocks in KPT Area.
- Boring of 2 meter dia 32 Nos, bored cast-in-situ Concrete piles upto 46m depth below Canal Bed, in 5m deep running water, with rigs/machinery mounted on floating platform, at Railway Bridge 34-A, Pattoki.
